Since her injury, Matthews has re-established herself on the international stage, leading the West Indies to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in England. That comeback appears to have set the stage for her Renegades return. "Winning the championship with the Renegades was such a special experience and I'm really looking forward to being part of the group again," she said, adding that missing the previous season was frustrating but that she is now fully fit and eager to chase another title in Melbourne colours.
