On Thursday, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) entered into a Rs 40,000 crore MoU with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for establishing integrated food manufacturing units in the country.
According to sources, the MoU was signed during the World Food India 2025 event in New Delhi. Reliance Industries announced the investment plan at its annual general meeting in August, stating that it would "build Asia's largest integrated food park with AI-powered automation, robotics, and sustainable technology."
RCPL has emerged from Reliance Retail and become a direct subsidiary of Reliance Industries. It has become one of India's most rapidly growing fast-moving consumer goods businesses. It has achieved revenues of more than ₹11,000 crore in a span of just three years since establishment.
RCPL would invest more than ₹1,500 crore to establish integrated food products and beverage facilities at Katol, Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh under the MoU.

At the August annual general meeting, Reliance Industries Director Isha Ambani stated that RCPL is one of the group's "growth engines" and aims to achieve ₹1 lakh crore in revenue within five years with a global presence.
Ambani had said, "Our long-term ambition is to become India's largest FMCG company with a global presence." She added that the FMCG business will serve as a "blueprint for expansion" into apparel, electronics, and other consumer categories. RCPL has acquired several consumer brands, including Tagge Foods, and launched homegrown brands ranging from soaps to colas under names such as Campa, Independence, Elan, Enzo, and Ravalgaon.
